There is something rural, alpine-like about it, to which I have always felt drawn. And it has a story in it that I can unfortunately no longer fully explain. There is no one left who could tell me about it. What gives it a very special magic.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CORRECT WATCH AND WHAT'S THE STORY OF IT?
For my confirmation, my grandmother gave me a stainless steel watch with a digital display. I think it was a Seiko. The part was really so hot back then. Hey, and that from my grandma! Damn it, where is it? So the clock, I mean.

I treat myself to a newspaper once a week. Not a digital edition, but actually printed. A festival for me.
WHAT DRIVES YOU?
The joy of design. To create something new. Deep down in my limbic system, it's also about recognition.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
There was once a slogan for Lego bricks: “A new toy every day.” That's roughly how my job is for me: Always different. I love that.
WHICH THEMES ARE THAT MOVING YOU IN PARTICULAR?
In the face of great challenges, people are just about to find themselves new or rediscovered. It's about nothing other than identity. Richard Precht put it in a nutshell in his essay “Artificial Intelligence and the Meaning of Life”.
WHAT TRENDS DO YOU SEE FOR OUR FUTURE?
The end of permanent self-optimization. And a new way of doing business that is not defined by growth. Even if the idea is certainly not new.
WHAT CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU APPRECIATE IN A HUMAN BEING?
Then when it comes down to being able to count on this person. So it is a very German virtue. And: if it makes me laugh.
